In a dream-like sequence, you find yourself back in your old house where you grew up. Walking around your childhood bedroom and the living room, you’re reminded of the way things were before your mom died. As you look around, you’re drawn to specific items and slowly realize that things were not as happy as they seemed. Your dad died when you were really young and being a single mom with only one source of income put a lot of strain on her. She had to work multiple jobs to make ends meet but also struggled with substance abuse. When she passed away from an overdose, you and your sibling went to live with your aunt.

You start off in your old bedroom which you shared with your sibling. Nostalgia hits as you see your favorite toys and shared items. When you interact with the different items, the voices of your family replay different memories. In the memories, you hear conversations you overheard as a child but didn’t entirely understand at the time. As you make your way throughout the bedroom and explore the living room, with every interaction and memory recalled the space starts to slowly lose its color and cheerful lighting. The scene ends when every interactable object has been discovered and the space has lost all its color, representing the present day and understanding now as an adult how things really were back then.
